A privacy-oriented web-hosting service
ZKHosting (ZKH) is an Internet hosting enterprise. Its business model differs from the usual hosting site in that it is not advertising-driven, and we do not sell, rent, or give any subscriber data to anyone.
All we know about you is whatever email address you've given us.
All we know about your leased space is whether its rent is current or not.
... and we require a subpoena to show even that to anyone.
Our business model is staying out of your business model.
ZKH is a subscription hosting service.
We rent web space. That's it.
The Details:
ZKH provides web space under a real estate leasing model: we regard web space as leasehold, similar to a physical office space.
ZKH provides the working structure required for an organization to function. Tenants get both the space to operate and the structure to maintain their organizations.
Since tenants pay specifically to occupy a private space, there is no justification for ZKH to seek advertising revenue; we collect no information beyond what is necessary to establish and service rental agreements with our tenants.
That’s the ZK part of our corporate name: ZK stands for Zero Knowledge: we retain as little tenant information as is necessary to conduct business.
The significant aspects of the ZKHosting business model are:
- ZKH sites are provided as private leasehold within our server space.
- ZKH site transactions are managed through third-party online commerce services; we don’t deal directly with tenants’ financial information.
- ZKH does not pass tenant information to third parties, except as necessary to establish and manage a lease, or as required by law.
- ZKH provides space as private leased property under commercial tenancy law.
- ZKH preserves tenant privacy: all we know about you is your space number; a valid e-mail address you give us; and whether your lease is current or not.
- Tenants may transfer the unexpired part of their current lease to a new qualified tenant, under the current terms of their active lease agreement.
That's it.
